Today’s post is for Project 52, a weekly blog project that I am working on with several other talented photographers whom I’ve come to know and adore over the past year. In this project, we concentrate on light and spend several weeks exploring an overarching theme. We are currently playing with light in black and white, concentrating on taking an image that we intend to convert to black and white even before we’ve hit the shutter button. Last week I posted a few photos of Avery. This week’s play is of Alexa, patiently waiting for her ice cream at Molly Moon’s:
Please continue along our creative blog circle to see what my dear friend Stacey Vukelj has posted. It is sure to be stunning! Click HERE to see Stacey’s latest play on light in black and white.

Three different expressions! I love the second one! The little gap in the middle of her front teeth is amazing! And the catchlights superb!
I love the slightly mischievous express in the first photo, with her hands framing her face. And the second two really capture how I feel about waiting for ice cream. Adorable.
Hello, lovely girl! Number 1 steals the show for me with that smile! 🙂
I love the sequence of images and expressions, but two is my favorite. You can see her patience, yet careful study of the making of her ice cream cone. Her hands look ready to reach up and grab it. Beautiful eyes and such an angelic face.
Beautiful photos! I love the softness of the black and white. The last one is my favorite. Her expression is priceless. Thanks for sharing!
How do I choose? They’re all so adorable! I love your soft processing on these and your perspective is perfect!
