My girls just turned 6 and 8 years old respectively. I *tried* to get them to agree to a portrait session with me, but they weren’t the most cooperative (especially when I wanted them to be in a photo with one another and not the cat). But I still think they are pretty damn cute.

First Day of School
I haven’t posted anything here in a very, very long time. Here are some pictures of my goofballs on their first day of school.

iPhone Stealing
These girls got a hold of Paul’s phone the other morning and were watching a cartoon. I like how they snuggle up together.
Some Daily Photos
Here are some photos taken so far in 2016.
Who We Become – January 2016
We are posting our December blog for Who We Become, with perspectives from all our members. My image was taken on film, when we were in Florida for our friends’ wedding.
If you would like to visit this month’s images as a blog circle and spread a little love to my friends, please start with my friend Kim by clicking HERE. Or you can click on my image to get to Who We Become and see all this month’s images.
Modern Day Saints – Opening TONIGHT in Capitol Hill
For much of the last year, my dear friend Barbara Trentalange and I have been working on a collaboration. Barbara is an incredibly talented portrait painter – you can see her work HERE and even learn about how to get a portrait commissioned – and we decided to pay tribute to the community that surrounds us and helps us raise our kids. Please stop by and visit us at Cupcake Royale in Capitol Hill (111 Pike) between 5 and 10 pm tonight. The work will be hanging for the next month if you want to check it out. Thank you also to the lovely write up from the Capitol Hill Blog: http://www.capitolhillseattle.com/2015/09/on-the-list-modern-day-saints-at-the-capitol-hill-art-walk-central-area-block-party-15th-ave-e-sidewalk-fest/

Back to School
Today was a big day around here: Avery started Kindergarten! Both my girls were cool cucumbers at drop-off. Avery told ME not to worry, and Alexa headed into school without even saying goodbye! I am so grateful to have such confident girls. Here they are and their silly antics before we left for school.
100 Days of Summer (the first week or so)
I’m participating in a project this summer – taking a photo everyday for 100 days. I don’t have a great success rate with shooting everyday, but I am hoping that my plate will be clearer this summer and that I can document the free-er days. I will try to post the photos here every week (ish). Here are the first 9 days, with some photos you’ve already seen. Wish me luck!
Day 1 – Washington High Desert Sunset
Day 2 – Whitefish Lake (Whitefish Montana)
Day 3 – Glacier National Park – The Hikers
Day 4 – The Brave Tree on The Long Road Home
Day 5 – Rocco turns 6
Day 6 – Small Girl, Big Cone
Day 7 – Her First Watch
Day 8 – Crab Hunting at Lincoln Park
Day 9 – Ethan the Dog Walker
Northern Lights
I went out and saw the Northern Lights last night with some lovely (and equally crazy) photographer friends. The auroras are hard to see with the naked eye, though we could make them out faintly. But with a long exposure, you get all sorts of coolness! Next time will have to be Alaska or Iceland, I think. 😉
