Today’s post is for Project 52, a weekly blog project that I am working on with several other talented photographers whom I’ve come to know over the past year. In this project, we concentrate on light and spend several weeks exploring an overarching theme. For the next four weeks we are taking a break from exploring classical light themes and instead focusing on the beautiful lights that celebrate the holiday season.
For this week’s post, I must confess that I am being entirely indecisive and posting two images. I think this time of year just results in my being more of an “and” person. As in, I will not decide if I should have a snickerdoodle OR a sugar cookie – I will have a snickerdoodle AND a sugar cookie. This also explains why all the nooks and crannies of my house are stuffed full of presents for my girls. Oops! The first image was taken during the “blue hour” – the first hour after sunset when the sky is that gorgeous cobalt color that I love. The second image is of Avery from the Salish Lodge at Snoqualmie Falls, where we had brunch with my parents who are in town for Christmas. Their beautiful Christmas decorations are almost as lovely as their waffles!
