Playdate with Max & Teddy

Today we visited with our friends Max and Teddy.  We’re so lucky to have found such wonderful friends here in Seattle.  Teddy and Alexa are about the same age, and so are Max and Avery, which makes playdates particularly fun since everyone has a friend.  Max and Avery were often running off and doing their own thing, so they weren’t as easy to capture, but you can see that they did make some efforts to play with the littles as well.

Project 52: Playing with Natural Indoor Light (3)

Today’s post is for Project 52, a weekly blog project that I am working on with several other talented photographers whom I’ve come to know (and frankly adore) over the past year.  In this project, we concentrate on light and spend several weeks exploring an overarching theme.  For the next four weeks, we are hiding from the elements and concentrating on natural light indoors.

This past week has officially been no fun, with Avery getting sick first and Alexa following soon behind.  And although it’s been cold outside, it’s also been bright and sunny (a rarity in Seattle in the winter), so staying inside has left this mama feeling cooped up and a wee bit stir crazy.  Our time has been spent watching princess movie after princess movie, and taking baths.  Here are a couple pictures of my cuties modeling their hooded towels, still very adorable even when they’re feeling under the weather.  The photo of Avery was taken using my new Lensbaby (a novelty lens that has a small area of focus surrounded by blur) – I can’t wait to get to play with that one outside!
