Who We Become – January 2016

We are posting our December blog for Who We Become, with perspectives from all our members.  My image was taken on film, when we were in Florida for our friends’ wedding.  KAC_2016_01_12_0115

Who We Become – December 2015

We are posting our December blog for Who We Become, with perspectives from all our members.  My image was taken on our recent trip to Hawaii, where my daughter Avery fell in love with snorkeling.  I was so impressed by how well she did – and jealous that on the trip out with her dad, she managed to touch a sea turtle!

If you would like to visit this month’s images as a blog circle and spread a little love to my friends, please start with my dear friend Stacey Vukelj – whom I miss very much, especially at this time of year – by clicking HERE (say Happy Birthday while you are there!).  Or you can click on my image to get to Who We Become and see all this month’s images.

Who We Become

I’ve been missing posting with my friends over at Who We Become, so we are trying something a little looser each month, mid-month.  Here is the first installment.

Last week, Avery had no school on Wednesday, so we had a really fun “Mommy and Me” day.  After Alexa got out of preschool for the day, we headed to Seattle Center to visit with the butterflies.  Of course, what fun is walking in an orderly manner, when you can climb stairs and jump down?  Please click HERE to see what my friend Stacey Vukelj, and HERE to see all the images on Who We Become.  Thanks for looking!

Modern Day Saints – Opening TONIGHT in Capitol Hill

For much of the last year, my dear friend Barbara Trentalange and I have been working on a collaboration.  Barbara is an incredibly talented portrait painter – you can see her work HERE and even learn about how to get a portrait commissioned – and we decided to pay tribute to the community that surrounds us and helps us raise our kids.  Please stop by and visit us at Cupcake Royale in Capitol Hill (111 Pike) between 5 and 10 pm tonight.  The work will be hanging for the next month if you want to check it out.  Thank you also to the lovely write up from the Capitol Hill Blog: http://www.capitolhillseattle.com/2015/09/on-the-list-modern-day-saints-at-the-capitol-hill-art-walk-central-area-block-party-15th-ave-e-sidewalk-fest/

Let Them Be Little (102)

I’ve taken the summer off of all my photography projects, but school has started and it is time to get back to it.  I may try to back-post some images, but in the meantime I will just enjoy getting back into things!  Here is an image from last week taken at the Seattle Art Museum with an old friend who recently moved to Seattle.  Please click HERE to visit Let Them Be Little and see all of this week’s images.  KAC_2015_09_03_0126

Back to School

Today was a big day around here: Avery started Kindergarten!  Both my girls were cool cucumbers at drop-off.  Avery told ME not to worry, and Alexa headed into school without even saying goodbye!  I am so grateful to have such confident girls.  Here they are and their silly antics before we left for school.
