This week on Who We Become we are focusing on depth of field. Depth of field is the area of your photo that is in focus. By keeping just your subject in focus, with the rest of the image out of focus, you direct the viewer’s eye where you would like it to go. Here, the cow’s face is in focus and you can see the water dripping from it’s mouth, but the other cows and trees in the background are blurred so they do not detract from the subject. Avery was very interested in petting a cow when we were in Switzerland, though the cows were not quite keen on this idea.
